And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Luke 21:25-27
Now, while the sun and moon have captivated mankind’s attention in every generation because of their importance to the very existence of life, the stars and their celestial message have evaded most of humanity.
In the beginning, mankind knew that God had scrolled across the heavens, a message that foretold the story of a coming savior, the Creator of the universe, to the glory of God. The majestic motions of the night sky were intimately familiar to ancient people.
Nevertheless, through perversion, Lucifer, the god of this world, has marred the beautiful masterpiece of the celestial story into a forgery called Astrology, which rules over the daily activities of lost souls looking for a purpose in life rather than looking for the Creator of life.
Astronomy, the study of the celestial bodies, is an exact science that can verify that everything in the heavens has been placed into motion with a very predictable course.
The pictures in the heavens are designed to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. Every constellation bears testimony to His Integrity, Righteousness, Truth, Justice, and Mighty Power.
While the subject of stars is vast, and the numbers are innumerable, I would like to focus on Matthew’s record in his gospel that an extraordinary celestial event accompanied the birth of Jesus.
It was a star that led the wise men to Jesus. “When they heard the king, they departed; lo, the star they saw in the east went before them till it came and stood over where the young child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.” Matthew 2:9-10. Whether the star appeared supernaturally or by natural law is not important, but God used the star to convey a divine message to the wise men is significant.
Many pilgrims have navigated their paths over the centuries by celestial navigation. Still, it has not been until these last days when knowledge has increased, as the prophet Daniel had predicted thousands of years ago, that mankind, through technological advances, can now measure the track of celestial objects, such as stars and comets with unbelievable accuracy.
Astronomy is such an exact science that it is no wonder that Jesus would mention stars in correlation with the signs of His Return at the end of the age.
Be assured that as the council of God chose to use celestial and geological events to proclaim Christ’s birth and death, He will do the same concerning the Second Coming of our Savior.
Most students of Bible prophecy and signs of end-time events are well aware of the celestial events that will take place in 2014 and 2015.
In 2014 and 2015, a rather rare display in the heavens should alert believers of the Word of God that the Lord is making a clarion call to humanity.

The scenario becomes more apocalyptic when one understands that this event will not happen again in this century. Now consider this: the sun and the moon are only two of God’s messengers set in motion and will deliver their message at a precise time in their set course.
God’s celestial design is irrefutable, its set course is perfect, and ultimately, nothing man can do can alter God’s plan or the message He wants to convey.
A quote from the Talmud on eclipses and blood-red moons, Our Rabbis taught, “When the sun is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for the whole world. A parable may illustrate this.
To what can this be compared? To a human being who made a banquet for his servants and put up a lamp for them. When he became wroth with them, he said to his servant, ‘Take away the lamp from them and let them sit in the dark.’
It was taught: R. Meir said, “Whenever the luminaries are in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel since they are inured to blows.” He said, Our Rabbis taught, “When the sun is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for idolaters; when the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel since Israel reckons by the moon and idolaters by the sun.
The best advice I can give you concerning these celestial events and all the catastrophic calamities that are coming upon this earth in travail comes from Jesus Himself: “Watch ye therefore, and always pray, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Watch!
