Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem... Psalm 122:6

Jerusalem Wall For the Peace of Jerusalem is a non-profit world mission outreach ministry through the River Church of God to establish a residence in 2009 in the city of Jerusalem, Israel. This residence is one of several residences that will be used for housing intercessors that pray for the peace of Jerusalem while they visit the holy sites in Israel.

The holy scriptures tell us to Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The Bible says... they shall prosper that love Jerusalem (Psalms 122:6).

While we look for seasoned intercessors that love Jerusalem and are willing to make up the hedge and stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30) for the peace of Jerusalem, we also encourage all that will pray in any capacity for the peace of Jerusalem to join together with us in prayer.

As believers in the Word of God, we have a clear mandate to pray that God's purposes concerning Israel and the holy city of Jerusalem will be fulfilled according to the Holy Writ. God speaks through the O.T. prophet Zechariah and says, "Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem." Zech. 1:17

"And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again." Zechariah.2:12

"And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?" Zechariah 3:2

The Jews that went into captivity in Babylon sat by the river and wept when they remembered Zion. Ps.137:1 and in verses 5-6 the Psalmist says, "If I forget thee O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy."

The Lord loves Jerusalem, and the Bible is replete with warnings to any nation that tries to abrogate the complete fulfillment of His Divine Plan for this Holy City and His chosen people.

We owe a great debt to the Jewish people for being the guardian of the Word of God. Likewise, it leaves us with a great responsibility to comfort the people of Zion (Isaiah 40:1). Therefore, let us join together in corporate prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Please tell your friends that pray to visit us at www.ForthePeaceofJerusalem.com. May God bless Jerusalem and all that dwell therein. May God be merciful to us, and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us; Selah.
