Being Lead by the Spirit

The picture above is simply a confirmation of a dream I had on that very morning and I will speak more about the picture and how I was led to the cross in the sand. First I would like to give you a little information about being led by the Spirit of God.

The Apostle Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14

Paul says, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” Romans 8: 16.

Solomon said, “The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” Proverb 20:27 The Amplified version says, “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord....”.

So what is God saying? Well, first of all, He is saying that His children can expect to be led by the Spirit of God.

Secondly, He is saying that He will enlighten us, He will guide us and that He will lead us through our spirit. That all may sound very simple, but in reality, we can find ourselves grieving the Holy Spirit because of our nature that is sinful due to the fall in the Garden of Eden.

Beside our nature, we are emotional creatures and because we are emotional creatures that have been given the awesome privilege and responsibility of free moral agency we can easily find ourselves too often leaning to our own understanding, choosing our own direction and letting our physical senses guide us.

Too often we find the natural man at the helm steering our vessel into shallow water where there are dangerous rocks and more often than not, we find ourselves crying out to the Lord for deliverance.

It's after much unnecessary distress and hurt we realize that we must have missed the mark. Well, I was just doing what I thought was the right thing to do. I think if we do more thinking than we do praying we can get ourselves into trouble pretty quickly.

I think the two can work together nicely. We have to think, but if we would also pray about the things that occupy our thoughts I think there could be more harmony within ourselves.

The Bible does not say the intellect of man is the candle of the Lord, but the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord.

God will enlighten us and He will guide us through our spirit. God is always speaking to our spirit, but we are not always hearing His voice because of the voices of the world.

“There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.” I Corinthians 14:10 All of these voices have a clear message on how you should live your life, but there is only one still small voice that is saying, “....., This is the way, walk ye in it, …....” Isaiah 30:21

The unregenerate person has absolutely no chance of hearing the still voice of God without the divine intervention of the Holy Spirit.

The world as a whole does not have the slightest clue that they are an eternal spirit, that they live in a body and that they possess a soul. All of humanity are eternal spirits.

Someone said to me, “I received eternal life when I excepted Jesus Christ”, Now, while that statement is true in the sense that you have turned your life over to Jesus Christ and now you have a new destiny other than the unregenerate person, but it is not the full picture.

Everyone from Adam to this present date is still alive and will remain alive for eternity. They may be in the grave and their body may have turned to dust, but their spirit is still alive.

For those that have died from Adam to the present time have had only two final destinations. There is heaven and there is hell. There is no purgatory or intermediate state where you can make amends.

“And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrew 9:27

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11
